Tree and Debris Removal – Tornado Damage Months Ago…

Share This Post With A Friend

Today was more tree and debris removal from the ef2 tornado damage months back. This storm left behind so much damage. We are still cleaning up from the damage this F2 tornado left behind.

Pictures below are damaged trees that we cut down today and made brush piles. In the next few days we will burn these large brush piles and get rid of all these trees and debris. Notice more dry firewood in front of the loader tractor. This will come in handy this winter…

These trailers were destroyed in the ef2 tornado from a few months back, as well as the pontoon boat that was sitting on the pontoon trailer. It is amazing how much damage was done by this storm, and how we are still cleaning up and doing tree and debris removal.

These 2 trailers are now nothing more than scrap iron. And of course scrap iron is worth absolutely nothing right now, so these will be sitting here until our pile gets much larger and heavier before hauling to scrap iron yard. It’s always nice to have extra scrap iron sitting around the farm when you have projects like we do. These trailers and scrap iron could come in very handy… Lol.

Wait a minute, I could use some of this for our safe room/storm/tornado shelter. I’m wanting to build a storm shelter that cannot be hurt by any storm, not even by a bomb. So yes, some of this heavy steel would be perfect. πŸ‘Œ

This is the same storm that netted us truck and trailers loads of firewood, as well as loads and loads of wood/lumber from what once was a large 42’x 82′ Morton barn.

During the cleanup process I also found some other cool stuff that we’ve used on projects here at Pin Oaks Farm. Check out the blog post from a few days ago about the free tin I gathered from this same storm. I used this free tin from torndo to put a roof over the outdoor chicken run…

So yes, this tornado/storm helped us tremendously. Without all the extra goodies from this storm, we would have been forced to go buy a great deal of our supply’s/materials new. This storm saved us a great deal of money, but also caused us extra work.

Work you say?

Yes work! Removing nails, removing screws and squaring and cutting many of the boards brought in from this violent tornado/storm. Almost every board had nails, or screws in them that had to be removed. Ends were broken, requiring squaring and cutting off the make true again. This is WORK! But still worth every minute of the extra work it caused us.

See ya in the next blog post.

Always do your best,

Mike Pilcher
