Thing Of Beauty
Today I noticed what a thing of beauty our place really is. While standing on the dock looking out over what once was a jungle, I realized how rewarding our work has been.
In the picture below you will see just one of so many beautiful views we have here at Pin Oaks Farm. One year ago you couldn’t even see the other side of the pond due to all the brush. After a winter of hard work and time invested, that has all changed. Now it is starting to look like a park.
As you look at this picture, notice to the far side of it is where I planted 4 more rows of sweet corn today. Due to all of the rain we’ve had, we have been rather late planting sweet corn and pumpkins. Everything is finally all in the ground, and it is a huge relief. We chose to stagger the sweet corn 🌽 and not plant everything at once so that everything isn’t all ready at the same time.
Sweet Corn For Wildlife
The far side of this field I planted today is very close to 1/4 mile long. This is where I planted the last 4 rows of sweet corn for this year. We have planted close to 3 acres total of sweet corn knowing that the deer 🦌, the Coons and other wildlife will have their way with some of it. This way it still leaves us with plenty to sell and harvest for ourselves and family.
Thing of beauty for sure is our dream property. A place we’ve dreamed of for so long. What once was a wish list of things we wanted in a farm property has now become a reality. We are very proud of our place and it really is a thing of beauty.
