Drilling Winter Wheat In The Snow – Weather Conditions…

Share This Post With A Friend

Have you ever thought about drilling winter wheat in the snow?

Notice in yesterday’s blog post how nice the weather was. It was in the high 50’s and low 60’s all day long and today it’s snowing and 20’s for a high today. Hmmm πŸ€”?

The point being, weather conditions are not the best today for drilling wheat as planned. And no, I have no plans of drilling winter wheat in the snow. Lol

Drilling Winter Wheat In The Snow

This entire year has been a revolving door as far as the weather conditions go. Each and every time I have attempted to do any kind of dirt work, like getting ready to pour concrete for our new home, getting fields ready to plant, building Mum fields and harvesting. It has been a battle with the weather all year long.

Of course, this is one thing that we cannot control. Weather conditions are out of our control!

Check out these crazy pictures above, that are less than 24 hours apart from yesterday’s pictures and blog post.

Yesterday’s blog post was “Plowing Deep For More Pumpkin Fields“. You can check it out here << and see the pictures of before and after final disking, in preparation for drilling winter wheat.

In yesterday’s blog post I explain why I was plowing so deep, the steps I went through, the disking process and why I am drilling winter wheat.

The weather conditions are always changing, so it’s not easy to plan everything out. Even the best plans can, and most times will change. Our forecast for this week shows, next 2 days brutal cold and wind, with no more precipitation. The last half of week, including weekend it will be back up in the low 50’s during the day and mid to upper 30’s at night. This is good news and will allow me to get the winter wheat in the ground. πŸ™Œ

I will share pictures of the entire process.

Always do your best,

-Mike
