Off Grid Water Tank Updates + Brute Strength Sliding Technique (Video)

Share This Post With A Friend

The video below will share Off Grid Water Tank Updates and ideas. When living off the grid you will sometimes just have to use pure brute strength. Trust me, this method relies on a good come along and brute strength.

One of the tools I use is a large crow bar and the other is a treated 2×4 that is 4′ long. With a great deal of pressure on the come along I can take the tools mentioned above and move the water tank back and forth to align with the water tank stand. This method isn’t for everyone, but it works for me.

Off Grid Water Tank Updates That Actually Work

These off Grid water Tank Updates have allowed me to move this nearly 3000# water tank so much easier than I could before. I am looking forward to the new conveyor roller track system that I mentioned in the video above. I will share this setup with you once I get started and show you how it works.

Off Grid Water Tank UpdatesMy experiences with conveyor roller track systems have been good ones, and make moving large heavy items much easier. I can’t wait to try it out with this heavy as_ water tank.

My previous method shown in the picture below did work and was so much easier. Simply go fill the water tank and then go back to the farm and unhook the trailer beside the fifth wheel (RV). The main problem with this method was not being high enough to gravity feed well. This is the main reason I built the water tank stand to start with.

Off Grid Water Tank UpdatesThe next problem came when we decided to put our RV inside the shop for the winter. There just wasn’t enough room for the trailer and our large fifth wheel and still leave me enough room on the other end of shop to work.

When I built the water tank stand I didn’t count on it being so difficult to move the tank from my truck onto the stand. It really does take a brute strength sliding technique to get it onto the stand…wow.

I do enjoy working out πŸ‹ several times weekly, but this isn’t one of the workouts I enjoy.
