I wanted to share our Pin Oaks Farm Outdoor Postal Box and how I was able to build it using all free lumber.

Using an Outdoor Postal Box like the one in this blog post and video allows us to keep people off of our property and keep it totally Private Property.
With the location of our fifth wheel (our RV), it just doesn’t make sense to have someone come that far back to drop off packages anyway. Besides that, most won’t and will leave the packages at the gate for potential thieves to take. Although we feel that we are in a very safe area, you just never know. And of course with a package just sitting by a gate with no one around is kind of like leaving candy out with baby’s and little children around. You know sooner or later they will get into it.
Temptation often attracts the wrong people, so why take a chance and leave your belongings out in the wide open. This is the country without many people around.
How To Get Free Lumber For Your Projects:

Use these ideas to get free lumber…
- Go to job sites where they are building new homes…like in sub divisions
- Ask the builders if you could take their scrap lumber that they are throwing away
- Go to home depot, lowes and other lumber yards to get their throw away piles of lumber
- Find any place that is building houses, sheds, and barns to get their throw away lumber
Our Outdoor Postal Box helps us to keep our property totally private for us to enjoy. We have the “Private Property” signs posted all around the property to make it aware to outsiders that we DO NOT want just anyone here when we aren’t open for business. When it comes time to open the gate up for visitors and customers, then there will be a Welcome sign placed out front.
A few signs and a privacy gate does indeed distract potential thieves and wrong doers. It helps keep your property protected and private.
