No rural water on our farm…our off grid living adventure…no problem!

Below you will see a video that I shot today sharing exactly how I built this water tank holding stand that would handle this 3000# water tank, and how I got this heavy beast of a tank up on this stand without a loader of any kind.

So what is so special about this water tank and stand? Watch this video to see why we haul our own water, because we have no rural water on our farm.

This water tank I picked up off of Craigslist and it was a food grade tank which is what I wanted so that I could be sure it had no poisonous chemicals or such. Then all we had to do is pressure wash it a clean it good to get rid of the “pickle juice” smell. Lol.

Many of our friends…and family are still wondering why we decided to give up the big fancy house and only a small yard to take care of for this acreage and lots to take care of, especially at our age.

We decided that even if it took 2-3 years to get our house built it was still worth having our freedom. Why do we still drive our high mileage vehicles? Because they are PAID FOR! Why are we waiting to get rural water? Because there is a thing called financial freedom we are seeking first, before we have all of the little perks. Yes, we are going to be totally debt free before we upgrade our vehicles, or finish our custom home. To most people this is crazy thinking, but to us, those people with 10s of thousands of dollars in credit card debt, huge mortgages, huge car payments is crazy.

We are living a simple and low cost life…and LOVE IT! Living off the grid is awesome and we would never go back to the crazy city living life.

So why have rural water when we can haul it and not be able to tell the difference. Our 36′ Sabre fifth wheel doesn’t know the difference between no rural water, or water from our water tank. Our RV has a very nice water purification system on board, so it makes the water just as good if not better than any bottled water anyway.

Just like the picture below shows, I have upgraded from one batter to 3 larger ones. These are Interstate deep cycle 27 series battery’s that have literally saved us when we had a electrical issue and could run off of the generator. We had to rely on these battery’s to power everything for us. I am actually adding a few more to have even more battery power on board our fifth wheel.
