Consistently getting water or lube to a sawmill blade is an absolute must, which is why I’ve built my own automated LubeKing for sawmills.
Whether you use water, windshield washer fluid or diesel fuel to lube your sawmill blade, nothing is worse than making trips back and forth to turn it on and shut it off, or better yet, forgetting to shut it off and your water/fluid tank is emptied. And, if it’s diesel fuel, depending on how full the tank was, it can get expensive. This is exactly why I designed this automated system for my sawmill, and now I’m building these for other sawyers.
How Does The LubeKing System Work?
Simple to hook up and efficient! For my sawmill, I am using less than 50% of the fluids I was using before I installed the LubeKing. This is a simple bolt on unit, hook your water line hoses up, and find the hot wire for your blade clutch switch, use one wire from solenoid to that hot wire and the other wire to ground. That’s it! Now when you turn on the switch for your blade, the water/lube automatically comes on. When you shut the blade off, the fluids shut off.
What Is The Recommended Fluids For Blade Lube Tank?
Most of the time I am using windshield washer fluid with some dawn dish soap and pinesol. The pinesol is very important for keeping the guide rollers super clean. Now, if you are using diesel fuel, then that alone keeps the guide rollers clean. I personally don’t use diesel fuel because I’m milling walnut about 85% of the time for clients that do NOT want the oil stains from diesel, or the smell in their walnut mantles and or table top slabs.
What Is The Cost Of The LubeKing System?
Below I’m including complete break down for each system shown in the pictures. Most folks what the mild steel with the top cover and wiper block. This system can also come in the aluminum type like shown on my sawmill below.

All mild steel models will be painted black. The aluminum models are raw aluminum with no paint. All models will come with new hoses, scotch brite pads for wiper block (unless otherwise specified), complete and ready to bolt on your sawmill…w/instructions. You will also get a brass bung for the water/fluid tank and a good stainless shut off valve. All models come with K&N inline filter to keep crap out of the solenoid.

P.S. These systems that I build are my own design and not associated with TimberKing of Kansas City in any way. They should come with some type of automated lube system, like WoodMizer does…(it’s called making your equipment stand heads and toes above the competition), but they don’t. While there are other similar types of these out there, these shown here are built and designed by me, and are patent pending designs!
The WoodMizer LT70 Super Hydraulic Portable Sawmill comes standard with their own lube mizer blade lube system. Although it’s doing basically the same thing as my system does, it’s a completely different design and functionality. Other sawmill manufacturers also have some type of blade lube, like the simple plastic valve and plastic parts of the stock TimberKing has and they do work, until the cheap plastic parts break.
