Chicken Coop Update + outdoor chicken run and our new chickens πŸ“.

Chicken Coop Update

Below you will see pictures of our latest updates to the chicken coop and our temporary outdoor chicken run. We literally had to make this chicken run (outdoor pen) in a few hours due to we had chickens on the way. So we was forced to hurry and create a temporary pen until we have the time to build the main one outside.

Chicken Coop UpdateChicken Coop UpdateBelow you will see our new chickens roaming around, checking everything out. You could tell at first they was very nervous, but it didn’t take them long at all to start feeling right at home. I totally forgot to take a picture of them in the large cage that I removed from the recent EF2 Tornado. This cage was really twisted and beaten up, but with the help of Rhonda and a hammer we was able to get it good enough to haul chickens in…

It is amazing what a hammer, pliers and some baling wire can fix…lol.

Chicken Coop UpdateChicken Coop UpdateOne of our granddaughters (Addie) is showing love to the new chickens and she really loves our little πŸ₯ chicks. Addie is definitely a farm girl. She absolutely loves animals and being outdoors. She sat on our dock and fished for hours at a time and then would come and talk to the chicks and big chickens, then go back to fishing.

Farm Fresh Eggs

It took them a few days to calm down and get use to their new chicken coop and chicken run, but now they feel at home. Finding eggs in the laying boxes makes me think they are feeling better about their new home. Addie talking to them and showing them how to get on their roosting bars also helped. She was also showing them their egg boxes and their food and water… Lol. It was really cute to watch Addie show these chickens their new home and listen to her talk to them.

More pictures to come as we progress with this project. This Chicken Coop Update was to share our progress up to this point.

P.S. If you would have any “Chicken Tips” on how to better care for them, the things they really like to eat, or any tips at all would be greatly appreciated. Is there anything that we could add to their water that would also help them in any way? How about roosters with them? We would love to hear from you, so please feel free to leave your comments below. You can also hit us up on our Facebook page here <<.
